Weight Lifting Belt For Women

Guides

Fit, Bracing and the Mechanism

A belt only does something if you brace against it, and it only fits if you measured the right two things. These five guides cover the part that product pages skip.

A lifting belt raises intra-abdominal pressure by giving your abdominal wall a rigid surface to push against, which stiffens your torso so less force is lost to spinal flexion during a heavy lift. It does not hold your spine in position, it is not injury insurance, and it does nothing at all if you do not breathe into your belly and brace hard against it.

Start with sizing if you have not bought a belt yet, and with bracing if you have.
